📜 RETURNS & REFUND POLICY

This Returns & Refund Policy forms part of the TechMogul Terms and Conditions and applies to all purchases made through TechMogul.


1. Our Commitment

TechMogul is committed to providing high-quality products and professional customer service.

Where products are defective, incorrectly supplied, damaged in transit, or otherwise eligible for return under applicable South African law, we will work with customers to provide an appropriate resolution.

Nothing contained in this policy limits or excludes any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“CPA”), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (“ECTA”), or any other applicable legislation.


2. Before Returning Any Product

Customers must contact TechMogul before returning any item.

This allows us to:

  • Verify the order.
  • Confirm the reason for the return.
  • Determine the appropriate return process.
  • Issue return instructions where necessary.
  • Reduce unnecessary delays.

Unauthorised returns may delay processing.


3. Return Eligibility

Products may qualify for return where permitted by law, including situations such as:

  • Incorrect product supplied.
  • Product damaged during delivery.
  • Product found to be defective.
  • Manufacturer fault.
  • Approved warranty claim.
  • Other circumstances recognised under applicable consumer legislation.

Each request is assessed individually.


4. Change of Mind Returns

Where permitted by law and subject to the nature of the product, TechMogul may accept returns for customers who simply change their mind.

To be considered, products should generally:

  • Be unused.
  • Be in original condition.
  • Include all accessories.
  • Include original packaging where reasonably possible.
  • Show no signs of installation or misuse.

Some returns may be subject to reasonable handling or restocking costs where permitted by law.

Custom-built systems, special-order items, personalised products, software, digital licences, and other items excluded by law or supplier policy may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns.


5. Defective Products

Where a product is believed to be defective:

  • The product may require inspection or testing.
  • Manufacturer diagnostic procedures may apply.
  • No fault found (“NFF”) results may affect the available remedies where permitted by law.
  • Manufacturer warranty processes may apply depending on the product.

TechMogul will keep customers informed throughout the assessment.


6. Warranty Claims

Many products are supplied with manufacturer warranties.

Where applicable, TechMogul will assist customers by facilitating warranty claims with the relevant supplier or manufacturer.

Warranty outcomes remain subject to the manufacturer’s assessment and warranty terms, except where the CPA provides additional rights.


7. Items That May Not Be Eligible for Return

Unless required by law, returns may not be accepted for:

  • Software activation keys.
  • Downloadable products.
  • Gift cards or vouchers.
  • Custom-built or made-to-order systems.
  • Special-order products sourced specifically for a customer.
  • Consumables that have been opened where hygiene or safety is affected.
  • Products damaged through misuse, neglect, improper installation, electrical faults, liquid damage, unauthorised modification, or accidental damage.

8. Inspection of Returned Goods

All returned products may be inspected before any outcome is determined.

Inspection may include:

  • Serial number verification.
  • Physical condition.
  • Functional testing.
  • Accessory verification.
  • Packaging assessment where relevant.

This helps protect both our customers and TechMogul against fraudulent returns.


9. Refunds

Where a refund is appropriate:

  • Refunds will generally be made using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
  • Processing times may vary depending on banks and payment providers.
  • Delivery charges, handling costs, or other fees may only be refunded where required by law or where TechMogul determines it is appropriate.

Where appropriate, TechMogul may offer:

  • Alternative compatible product.
  • Store credit.
  • Repair.

The most suitable remedy will depend on the individual circumstances and applicable legislation.


11. Return Shipping

Where a return results from a confirmed fault or an error by TechMogul, we will advise the customer regarding return shipping arrangements.

For other approved returns, customers may be responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.


12. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Packaging returned products securely.
  • Removing personal data from devices before return.
  • Backing up any important information before returning storage devices or computers.

TechMogul accepts no responsibility for data loss during repair, testing, replacement, or warranty processing.


13. Fraud Prevention

TechMogul reserves the right to refuse or investigate returns involving:

  • Altered serial numbers.
  • Missing components.
  • Intentional damage.
  • Evidence of misuse.
  • Fraudulent claims.
  • Products not originally supplied by TechMogul.

Any such action will be taken in accordance with applicable law.


14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TechMogul shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from delays in processing returns or warranty claims. Nothing in this policy excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.


15. Consumer Rights

Nothing contained in this policy limits or excludes any rights available to consumers under:

  • Consumer Protection Act, 2008
  • Electronic Communications and Transactions Act
  • Any other applicable South African legislation

Where legislation provides greater protection than this policy, the legislation shall prevail.

Do I need the original packaging?

Keeping the original packaging is recommended, especially for change-of-mind returns. However, your statutory rights under South African law are not automatically lost simply because the packaging is unavailable.


How long does a refund take?

Once a refund is approved and processed by TechMogul, the time for funds to appear in your account depends on your payment provider or bank.
